                                ORDINANCE NO. 9593
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE,
                   PART II, SECTION 3-101 RELATIVE TO THE BOARD
                   OF SIGN APPEALS.
                  
                                                    
                  
       	    	 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Chattanooga City Code, Part II,
       Section 3-101 be and the same is hereby amended by deleting
       subsection (b) in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof a 
new
       subsection as follows:
                   "(b) The Board of Sign Appeals shall consist
                   of nine (9) members; each member of the City
                   Council shall appoint one member to said
                   Board.  Each member of the first Board shall
                   serve a term of two years expiring on July 31,
                   1993; each member of the Board shall
                   thereafter serve a term of four years.  In the
                   event of a vacancy on the Board, the member of
                   the City Council responsible for the
                   appointment of that particular position shall
                   appoint a new member to serve the unexpired
                   term.  A member of said Board may be removed
                   from the Board upon a majority vote of the
                   entire City Council."
                  
       	    	 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall take
       effect two (2) weeks from and after its passage as provided by
       law.
